Small Groups

We believe small groups are the primary way to get and stay connected at COAH; they provide the best way to facilitate authentic relationships with others while deepening our relationship with Christ.

Jimmy and Julie deciding on a small group.

The small group environment is one where people can form real friendships and have honest conversation.

Most small groups gather every other week and last for 90 minutes.

Members of a small group agree to a specified length of time for the group, usually a year.

We offer four primary types of groups.

  • Relational groups focus on building authentic relationships and connectedness through God-focused conversations in a real-life atmosphere.
  • Learning groups focus on the study, discussion, and application of God’s word. Learning groups may choose to do a year-long study or several shorter studies over the course of a year.
  • Accountability groups focus on accountability among group members for specific discipleship issues. These are smaller small groups (3 – 6 people) of the same gender.
  • Support groups focus to respond to a shared hurt in group members’ lives. Participants seek healing, recovery or simply support from each other. These groups vary in size and time commitment based on need.

For more information or to find a specific small group to join, contact Teresa Cook, our small group coordinator at teresa@cityonahillumc.org.
