Filling the Stable - Passing on the Gift
CITY ON A HILL’s Christmas Mission
Jesus, born in a stable, came to bring Peace and Hope. As we celebrate Jesus’ birth this year, CITY ON A HILL will be spreading His Peace and His Hope by reaching out to a hurting world. We will Fill the Stable with farm animals that will be given to families in need throughout the World. Offspring of these animals will then be given to others in the community, Passing on the Gift, continuing a path of Peace and Hope. We will be working with Heifer International who gives global assistance by providing “not a cup, but a cow." The Heifer Gift Ark, our Stable, is fifteen pairs of animals, providing current needs and a future of promise to the poor and hungry. By giving $5000 to Heifer International, we can supply a stable full of animals help families start on a journey to fulfill a seemingly impossible dream - to secure food and a source of dependable income.
Over time, each family that receives livestock will “Pass On The Gift” by passing on one or more of the animal offspring to other families who are in need in their community. Every gift will multiply for years to come. What a wonderful way to bring joy to the world!
What animals will Fill Our Stable?
You can provide a “pair of animals” or a “share of animals.” Go together with friends or your Small Group and provide a Christmas present for someone in need. Give an animal in honor or memory of someone. A beautiful card will be provided, telling of the gift.
Join Pastor Chris’s CHALLENGE: Whatever amount you spend on the World’s Christmas this year, give an equal amount to Jesus through Heifer International.
This Christmas, prayerfully consider the true meaning of Christmas and “change the world, one loving act at a time.”
Information will be available in the lobby starting November 30. Want to help with this project? Contact Dawn Odum
