COAH Prison Ministry Collecting Toiletries
Tue, 10/07/2008 - 5:15am — Dan Evans
The CITY ON A HILL Kairos Prison Ministry is collecting bars of soap, shampoo (clear bottles only), tooth brushes/tooth paste and stick deodorant as an ongoing project. Toiletries collected will help support the prison ministry which is currently in desperate need of these items! The State of Georgia has cut back so much on the funds for the prison that the Prison Chaplain is in danger of losing his position. This would be detrimental to the Kairos Ministry at Hays State Prison where the men from City On A Hill minister to the incarcerated. When asking the Chaplain what we, as a Church Community, could do to help, he responded that a drive to collect the above goods for the prisoners would go a long way in helping the current situation. The Chaplain, as part of his position, is responsible for the provision of these goods. Please contribute generously to the Kairos drive, keeping in mind that no amount of these goods would be too much. For those of you who travel for a living, please remember to “pick-up” the extra soaps, shampoo’s, etc in the hotels in which you stay. You can give them to Kurt Yaeger throughout the year for delivery to Hays State Prison. For more information, contact Kurt Yaeger at 678-575-1855. The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.
