Dear CITY ON A HILL United Methodist Church,
One sermon left in the RESET Sermon Series (Click to watch the 1 min promo video). This Sunday we focus on our vision as a church – to change the world, one loving act at a time.
I want each of you to make sure to bring whatever notes you’ve made from the first two weeks of the series because I’m going to have “congregation participation” at the beginning of this week’s sermon where I give some gifts to those who can share with me some things they’ve learned so far, either from the first week or last week.
Special attention will be given to those who know the Purpose and Mission Statements by heart and/or the scripture passage from Matthew 5, vs. 14, 16, but the sharing of anything learned will be welcomed.
Having said this, I believe most folks are back from their vacation in preparation for school so attendance should start to climb back up. As such, let me remind you of ways to be especially hospitable to visitors:
1) Park further out; give the closer spots to new people
2) Sit up front, especially the first four rows of tables and chairs
3) Say hello to folks you don’t recognize
4) Invite people to sit with you so there aren’t single empty chairs anywhere

OUR ANNUAL WATER/COKE GIVE-AWAY THIS SATURDAY & NEXT
Join COAH’s “Special Forces’ this Saturday, from 12noon to 2pm at JJ. Biello Park or next Saturday from 1pm – 3pm at the intersection of Mill Creek & E. Cherokee (in front of Johnston Elementary).
It’s a simple but profound way to be in mission, expressing God’s love in a tangible way through offering free, cold water and Cokes.

WORSHIP MINISTRY LOOKING FOR SINGERS, INSTRUMENTALISTS & USHERS

Greetings!
I would like to start by saying Thank You! It is quickly approaching a year’s time in which I have been at CITY ON A HILL. I feel extremely blessed to be able to worship and grow alongside everyone. In just one year’s time, I have witnessed a church that is growing not only numerically but spiritually as people become deeply committed followers of Jesus Christ.
In response to Pastor Chris's sermon on Sunday, I wanted to let you know of several areas in which you could begin serving that are important to this church and will make a difference.
We are currently trying to form more music groups in Worship Ministry. If you are interested in playing or singing in church, please let me know. We also have servant positions in other worship ministry areas such as ushering, greeting and handing out bulletins, and the City Café, all positions that play a vital role in helping people feel welcomed and becoming connected!
I challenge you to sign up this Sunday by circling one or two ads on the COAH Classifieds that were handed out this past week and bringing them back to church THIS SUNDAY as we wrap up our Reset Series by talking about our Vision: Changing The World, One Loving Act At A Time.
Ads were emailed this week as well. Additionally, hard copies are available at the "Stuff Table" in the welcome area.
I would just like to thank you again and tell you that I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve alongside you at COAH.

S.H.A.P.E. is more than just a spiritual gifts inventory, you also learn about how God might use your heart-passions, your abilities, your personality type and your life experiences to further His Kingdom.
Step one is the assessment tools, taking each inventory for the above listed categories.
Step two is the class – see date and time and location above.
Step three is a one on one discussion with a SHAPE counselor to help you get plugged in where you feel you’re making the greatest impact.
This is the last Sunday you can sign up on your connect card. Space is limited.
