One more week remains in the ISSUES WITH THE BIBLE series. This week we explore the issue “The Bible Is Unscientific.”
It’s been another great year for our August Invitation Theme. We have had lots of first time and returning visitors. These are our attendance numbers so far…
August 1 – 331
August 8 – 366
August 15 – 336
August 22 – 332
August 8th represents a new high for us (not counting Easter Sunday). And as you might suspect we’re also on pace to set a new one month average high, which currently stands at 320 set in May of this year, (which broke the previous record of 314 set last August).
Of course, one of the four points of our MISSION is to BRING other seeking people which we do throughout the year; but, August is simply a great time for all of us to concentrate our efforts together.
We have one week left and it would be awesome to break our single Sunday attendance one more time this month as we hopefully also set a new high with our monthly average.

Thank you for sitting up front, allowing visitors to have the better seats (in back)!
Thank you (who are able) to come to the 9:30 worship experience allowing us the ability to maximize our facility there at Johnston Elementary.
Thank you for speaking to new people or folks you otherwise don’t know.
And by all means, please don’t feel like you need to stop doing these things because August is coming to a close this Sunday.
It’s (hopefully!) always a good time to bring people you know to worship at COAH.

DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDY – LAST WEEK TO SIGN UP!
This Sunday is your last opportunity to sign up for one of our three DISCIPLE Bible Study classes this year.
Tuesday Nights, 7-9 pm… ½ full, 6 spaces remain.
Thursday Nights, 7-9pm… FULL… Class closed.
Friday Mornings, 9:30-11:30am… ¾ full, 4 spaces remain.
DISCIPLE is our most comprehensive Bible study, running the length of the school year; it covers 70% of the Bible. It requires daily readings, 6 days a week, of 30 – 45 minutes and a once/week group study of 2 hours.
It is a high-commitment, high-impact discipleship / spiritual growth opportunity.

PIZZA WITH THE PASTOR BIBLE STUDY – THIS WEDNESDAY!
Interested in hearing more about “Issues with the Bible?” Join me this coming Wednesday for pizza and Bible Study at the Holly Springs Depot, 7-8:30.
Pizza arrives at 6:30! Please pre-register so we buy enough pizza and have enough class supplies. (Even if you don’t want pizza, just tell us that.)

OUR 9/11 ANNUAL MISSION
In commemoration of 9/11, CITY ON A HILL will deliver baskets of baked goods to the firefighters of Holly Spring and Woodstock. We need donations of home-baked goodies for this mission.
In the past we have received excellent feedback from these firefighters and EMT workers that while lots of people “say thanks,” providing this kind of “thank you” of baked goods really touches them and signals to them, “we mean it.”
We are planning to deliver 33 baskets with lots of baked foods.
We need bakers!
We also need drivers to deliver these baskets to the stations on September 11.
