One of the more commonly known practices during Lent is that of giving up something (fried foods, TV, chocolate, you get the idea). But what would happen if we added something for our own spiritual growth? Maybe a commitment to weekly worship, to reading your Bible, to beginning a devotional book, to prayer, etc. I challenge you to consider “adding something” to your spiritual journey during Lent this year.
Throughout this season of Lent, we also invite you to join us at CITY ON A HILL for the “Faith Is…” sermon series. Over the next 7 Sundays we will define in detail what faith in God through Jesus Christ actually looks like. I look forward to seeing each of you in worship! Speaking of worship…
WORSHIP TIME CHANGE, STARTING THIS SUNDAY 2/21
In case you haven’t heard, we are moving our worship times to 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM beginning this Sunday. This change is needed as we address space issues (both now and anticipated) and begin plans to offer additional worship times in the future. You can read more details here.
A FOLLOWER’S LIFE BIBLE STUDY
A Follower’s Life is coming up on Saturday, 2/27 from 8-5 PM. This all day Saturday event (including a free breakfast and lunch) is a biblically driven opportunity for participants to grasp how to more effectively live out their relationship with Christ both personally and through our church in service to the world. For additional information contact George Labollita, Membership Ministry Team Leader or check out the website here.
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY IS BACK
CITY ON A HILL is once again offering Financial Peace University beginning March 10. FPU is a biblically-based, video-driven small group study that teaches families to beat debt, build wealth, and give like never before! Cosby Clark is the class facilitator and more information can be found on the table outside worship this Sunday and soon on the website. For more information, contact Cosby Clark.
That’s all for now and I’ll see you on Sunday. It’s a pleasure to be one of your pastors.
